Just booked my tickets for the U.S. today.

    Arriving 12/29/2008 at 6:30pm

    Departing 1/14/2009 at 12:05am

CES Show is from 1/8-11, plus I'm thinking we'll be in SoCal before that to visit a few clients.

Anyways...who wants to meet up? Yay for being able to spend New Years again in the U.S.

  • happy birthday

    Yesterday was Sharon's birthday...

    Happy Birthday Cuzzie Wuzzie!

    Today is Cindy's birthday...

Happy birthday! Wishing you a day full of love, fun, and good food.

  • the banana diet

I'm trying this recently because it sounds yummy and I like to eat healthy.

See, in Taiwan, there really isn't any healthy breakfast. I usually have to think about what to eat every morning and sometimes it can get frustrating because most things are so oily...and fried...and just fatty. Bleh.

Sure, I can eat oatmeal, but I'm always on the run in the morning, so there isn't much time for me to prepare a nice oatmeal breakfast everyday.

Breakfast menu for the next week:

    • Warm soy bean milk high in fiber, no sugar.
    • Banana
    • Hard boiled egg

It looks like it won't be fulfilling, but it is. I tried it this morning and I didn't get hungry until lunch time. Supposedly, eating a banana every morning while drinking lots of water will help with your digestive system. Some people eat like this to lose weight. Try it. That's one meal of the day taken care off and you get to lose some pounds. Woot!

  • happy days

Been really content lately with things. I don't know if it's thanks to me...but just relaxin' myself really helped!

It also makes me happy that other people are happy.

    Happiness can be contagious!

    Small update:

    • Estimating that I'll be back in the U.S. end of December until mid-January for the CES show in Las Vegas. Who else wants to go? I have more free passes!
    • Our company is getting four booths at CES this year and it'll be decorated! I'm excited for that because before, we just had a tiny booth. Let's hope all things will go smoothly, because our decorating company is in China...
    • No more ChengDu show in China for me. My dad told me most people speak ShiChuan language there, and if they do speak Mandarin, it'll be hard to understand. That means Helen and me there = we will be displays that can't communicate with buyers. Haha. So yeah, no ChengDu.

  • downer

something that was suppose to be fun and exciting,

turned into something upsetting and gloomy,

you manage to get to me everytime.

i hate it when things get to me, when i know it shouldn't.

    another "one of them days."

  • why marraige?

Nothing against marriage, but just a random thinking moment.

I have been thinking - what is the point of marriage? Why can't people just be "together" and that's good enough. To me, it seems like marriage is just a title. Two people can do everything they can do in a marriage without actually getting married.

I'm just seeing no great reason to get married.

Marriage...seems to complicate things. Mentally, people feel more tied down when nothing they're doing has changed.

My mom and her sisters have been telling me - don't get married!

I do wonder if it's because of their bitterness towards their own marriages. Or is it just the truth. Why get married? Why add more responsibilities to your life?

    Yeah, like I said...just ramblings.

  • visiting home

This past trip back to the U.S. was so nostalgic. When the plane started landing, I looked outside my window and the view was breathtaking. I saw the entire bay area before me. The land, the ocean...yeah, I teared a bit. Oh, the emotional side of me came out. Ha.

It was great to be back home - the place where I grew up. Some great events took place while I was there.

    • Foodwhore luncheon at Vanessa's - very yummy Vietnamese fushion cuisine in the company of Phuoc!
    • Paulo's drunken Nintendo birthday party. We had to take a shot of whiskey before our turn for the Mario Kart, which is awesome - the only time we can drink and drive with no worries. Surprisingly, I took 5th place...and there were like 20 people competing. Woot! It was also great to see old friends and drink up.
    • Brent & Kim's Wedding: I am so happy for this couple. You know, we all go to weddings, but for these two, I know it's different. I truly believe that they will be together forever. When they said they'll love each other, for better for worse...I believe it. It was worth the trip.
    • Dinner with Joy and Cin - yay for Happy Hours and lots of junk food!
    • Dinner with the 10/11's - Quan and Irene. Cindy and I drove down to San Jose and ate at 3ta with them. Yummy Thai fushion cuisine...we ordered a lot, we ate a lot, and we finished them all.
    • Dinner with the Vallejo ppl - Sharon, Jasmine, Paolo - had dinner at Brother's Korean BBQ in SF. I love Korean BBQ!

Many more things...but I don't have time to go thru the details. I just love my friends. Although the trip back was short, but I'm glad I paid $1,800 for my flight to come back and see you all.

  • taiwan to SFO

Leaving in two days for the "home sweet home" of mine. Guess what? I've extended my stay...by one day, but hey, time is money, so one day means a lot to me! Hahaha. It seems like I have all the days filled except the 20th and 25th during the day (thanks to the extra day).

I'm just trying to organize all the food I want to eat once I get back.

    • Pho
    • Korean BBQ/ Cuisine
    • Japanese food (trust me, that is also different in Taiwan)
    • Applebee's
    • In & Out Burgers
    • Noodles (only the close friends know what I'm talking about)
    • Chipotle

Yeah...doubt I'm going to hit them all...but it's good to have your tummy prepared.

  • berlin drinking

it's relaxin' walking around berlin and going into random bars with helen...while getting drunk.

ok, we didn't get drunk. but i sure did get buzzed.

a lot of buzzin' and talkin'.

    it's awesome having a sister.

  • Appreciation

Be thankful of that one person who is next to you.

That person may not be as perfect as someone from the past...

...because after all, you're still getting to know that person.

    However,

    at this moment,

    whether you're sad

            happy

                   angry

                           or excited,

this is the person next to you, not going anywhere else.

Presence of this particular one is enough - this is especially obvious when you are alone.

Nothing wrong with ordinary, when ordinary is there for you and extraordinary isn't.
